Bridgerton is back on Netflix on the 16th of May and with that, no doubt will come a new obsession! No, I am not talking about the latest heart-throb male lead. Whilst you may tune in for the drama and romance, we fashion lovers spend the time fixating on the stunning regencycore looks that are given life by the show’s Costume Designer, Ellen Mirojnick.
The characters don corsets, extravagant dresses, opera gloves, and decadent jewels and whilst we may not be attending royal balls ourselves, it doesn’t mean that we don’t wish to parade in the fashions. Yes, most of them are completely impractical for the modern day, but inspiration can still be taken from the over-the-top looks.
And if you are wanting to channel regencycore, you are not the only one. Many designers have exhibited Bridgerton-worthy pieces over the past few years – from Markarian to ERDEM, Rodarte, and Loewe.
Below are six surprisingly wearable trends that will help you dress like you just stepped out of Bridgerton…
Regencycore dresses
Empire-waist ballgowns are not for everybody, but they are the pieces that are most commonly associated with Bridgerton and the era. Instead of a ballgown, emulate the vibe with a maxi dress complete with statement sleeves and a bold floral print – like a true Featherington!
Corsets
Corset tops are another way to easily replicate the styles of Bridgerton. They don’t need to be bone-crushing like the ladies of the Ton either. Just tight enough that you are still comfortable, but still feel sexy!

Dainty shoes
When it comes to regencycore, what you wear on your feet is just as important as what you put on your body. Dainty ballet flats are a good way to go to achieve the Bridgerton look – and great news they are already shaping up to be one of 2024’s biggest trends, so you are really killing two birds with one stone. However if you wish to take it one step further, opt for some embellished mules or kitten heels, preferably in a pastel hue.
Elaborate hair accessories
Queen Charlotte is the GOAT of elaborate hair. But you will be forgiven if you do not wish to rock an oversized bouffant. You can however choose fun hair accessories instead. Think ribbons, pearl-encrusted headbands, and floral fascinators.
Regencycore Jewels
This one is key to the Bridgerton aesthetic. Opulent statement necklaces in particular are the key to looking regal. Though they may be best kept for special occasions!
Regencycore Gloves
This one is going to be love or hate, but you may find wrist-length lace or opera-length satin gloves more wearable than you think. Just look to Kim Kardashian, who has been wearing this style lately. If you are looking to make a statement – look no further.
