If you grew up in the early 2000s and spent your days watching rom-coms like me then chances are you’re already a fan of summer’s hottest dress style. Thanks largely to Kate Hudson’s character Andie Anderson in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days – butter yellow dresses are still highly desired. It’s been over 20 years since that movie was released and the hold that dress still has over us is nothing short of iconic.
The pale-yellow shade has seen a resurgence on the runway, appearing in the SS24 collections of Bottega Veneta, Versace, Jacquemus, Fendi, and Rotate. However, dresses weren’t the only apparel drenched in the hue – with trousers and tanks, shirts and jackets all given a sunshine makeover.

This is clearly the colour of the season and as stunning as it is on all matter of apparel, I still cannot move past butter yellow dresses and it appears neither can our favourite celebs. Rihanna, Emily Ratajkowski, Sabrina Elba, Joey King, and Aubrey Plaza have all brought butter yellow to the red carpet and their street style of late.
Sabrina Carpenter is especially fond of the shade having worn the shade several times throughout 2024, including a custom corseted mini dress by FROLOV to the 2024 Governors Ball music festival recently. Not to mention her stunning 25th birthday dress that was clearly inspired by How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days – diamond necklace and all.

If the runway or Sabrina Carpenter isn’t enough to convince you to buy that dress then maybe these stunning looks will…
