It’s that time of year again, fashions Superbowl is back. The Met Gala 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most meaningful—and stylish—nights in fashion history. This year, the event isn’t just about jaw-dropping couture; it’s a celebration of identity, heritage, and the art of tailoring as a form of self-expression. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming event.

When Is The Met Gala 2025?

The Met Gala is always held on the first Monday in May. This year, that will be Monday 5th May 2025 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

What Is The Met Gala 2025 Theme?

The 2025 Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The accompanying Costume Institute exhibition will explore the evolution of Black dandyism—from the 18th century to today—highlighting how fashion has been used as a tool of resistance, pride, and creativity within the Black community.

What Is The Dress Code?

This year’s dress code is “Tailored for You,” a playful yet profound invitation for guests to express their individuality through tailoring. It’s a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and Black dandyism, encouraging attendees to embrace their personal style.

Expect to see a dazzling array of interpretations—from zoot suits and Congolese sapeur-inspired ensembles to modern takes on classic tailoring. Accessories like hats, canes, brooches, and pocket squares are likely to make bold statements on the red carpet.

Who Are the Co-Chairs?

Leading the event this year are co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as honorary chair.

Who Is On The Guest List?

While the full guest list is always kept under wraps, this year’s host committee offers a glimpse into the star power expected. Confirmed members include André 3000, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Simone Biles, Regina King, Janelle Monáe, Spike Lee, Usher, and Sha’Carri Richardson.

Regular attendees like Zendaya, Rihanna, and the Kardashians are also expected to grace the red carpet.
