For the Dior FW24 ready-to-wear show, Maria Grazia Chiuri reflected on the transitional era of the late 1960s when fashion left the atelier to conquer the world.
In 1967, under the creative direction of Marc Bohan, fashion history was made. The House of Dior introduced its first ready-to-wear line named Miss Dior. A brand-new concept that perpetuated the couturier and founder’s ambition to dress all women. This was a collection that was designed to be easy to wear and infused with freshness, youth, and creativity.
Today, for Dior FW24 Maria Grazia Chiuri draws inspiration from this pioneering generation. This collection celebrates the shapes and materials that, when the Miss Dior boutique opened in Paris, gave incentive to a new way of dressing that could unite numerous women and make them all special.
Chiuri incorporates the iconic silhouette of Dior but gives it a modern twist with a sophisticated A-line shape. The colour palette echoes Marc Bohan’s range: white, orange, pink, and neon green with looks conveying the strength of femininity.
Standout pieces from the collection include the ‘Miss Dior’ motif that was featured across skirts, blazers, and jackets.
The collection consists of versatile, timeless pieces that perfectly allude to the iconic history of Dior.
