Tenniscore: The Latest Fashion Trend You’ll Want To Serve This Summer

tenniscore

Over the past year we have had mermaidcore, barbiecore, and grandpacore, but it seems there is a new fashion aesthetic that has everyone talking – tenniscore. With Zendaya’s latest movie Challengers hitting the cinema, where she plays the tennis-pro-turn-coach Tashi. Not to mention her unbelievable dedication to method dressing on and off the red carpet – this new trend is hardly surprising.

Whilst Zendaya always serves (pun very much intended) when it comes to fashion, there’s something about the cute preppy tennis looks she wore whilst promoting Challengers that is just so appealing. Perhaps because they are so easy to replicate! And whilst we may not be playing an actual game of tennis in a sequin-mini dress or those Loewe tennis ball heels, that doesn’t mean that we can’t take inspiration from the sport for our everyday outfits.

The best part of this trend is that you don’t have to spend a fortune getting a whole new wardrobe just to achieve this look. The tenniscore aesthetic can actually be achieved with just a few simple pieces, some of which you probably already own.

Preppy style has been back in fashion for a while now and is only gaining in popularity each season. Largely thanks to Miu Miu and Prada that both released school-girl-inspired collections including preppy mini skirts, polos, and V-neck jumpers. Tenniscore is essentially an extension of this trend. And with the likes of Casablanca showcasing tennis skirts as part of its spring/summer and fall/winter 2023 collections – it’s a style that is going nowhere fast.

How to style tenniscore

Tenniscore is not about what you’re going to wear whilst you play, but rather the inspiration that the sport brings. Which is great as it means you can channel the aesthetic without having to get sweaty.

The key to nailing this trend is to keep it casual. Style a pleated a-line mini skirt with an oversized sweatshirt and trainers for an off-duty-tennis-pro look. Or keep it even simpler with a tennis dress. Just don’t forget some high-rise tennis socks to pair with your trainers.

Investing in more white pieces is also a great shout if you’re wanting a more subtle approach to this trend. White dominates summer fashion every year so it’s a wise choice to pick pieces that you’ll want to wear for years to come.

Whether you are fully ready to commit to sporty fashion, attending Wimbledon, or hoping to keep it subtle, there’s something for everyone with this trend. Here are some of the best tennis skirts, dresses, and jumpers that you can shop now…
