fall winter 2024 trends

We may be heading into summer, but that doesn’t mean we can’t plan ahead and think about what we will be wearing come fall. After all, the fashion industry works six months in advance and the latest runway collections have just wrapped for fall winter 2024. With them, as always, comes a new wave of fashion trends.

From the catwalks of New York, London, Milan, and Paris here are six of the biggest trends from fall winter 2024…

Red

Unless you have been living under a rock, you will have seen red everywhere over the past few months. If the collections of Courrèges, Ferragamo, Simone Rocha, Tod’s, and ERDEM are anything to go by, this is not about to change.

This is one of those trends that is slowly becoming a classic. Sheer fabrics popped up in the fall winter 2024 collections of nearly every major designer. From dresses at Acne Studios, Versace, and Victoria Beckham to midi skirts at Michael Kors and Saint Laurent.

Designers such as Molly Goddard, Bora Aksu, Paul Costelloe, and Giambattista Valli are bringing back the 60s with the latest trending dress style – the babydoll. Typically defined by an empire waistline and full skirt, this playful style will be in everyone’s wardrobe come winter.

Animal print

(L-R: Versace, Christian Dior, Marni, Alexander McQueen)

The revival of animal print is well and truly upon is and is one of the biggest trends of fall winter 2024. It’s a print that has been cropping up in collections over the past couple of seasons, on everything from dresses and jeans to tights and coats. If you’re still not convinced this trend is for you, just look to Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors, and Versace.

Fur frenzy

(L-R: Acne Studios, Alexander McQueen, Diesel, ERDEM, Marni, Michael Kors, TODs)

If you thought the mob-wife aesthetic was a fleeting trend, think again. Alongside animal print, oversized fur coats and other fluffy ready-to-wear garments were seen in abundance across the fall winter 2024 collections. Standout pieces came from ERDEM, Stella McCartney, 16Arlington, Diesel, Alexander McQueen, Acne Studios, Marni, and Dolce and Gabbana.

Feminine Silhouettes

The ladylike silhouette is a timeless shape but has been given a new lease of life this season. Think cinched waists and full-bodied skirts a la Bottega Veneta, ERDEM, and Carolina Herrera and sleek long-line cuts as seen at Coperni, Michael Kors, and Fendi.
