Maybe it’s thanks to Bridgerton, or perhaps it’s simply the natural trend cycle, but corsets are back in our wardrobes for 2025. Once a restrictive undergarment, the corset has re-emerged as a versatile fashion statement that can be styled a surprising number of ways. The spring/summer 2025 runways in particular provided several different ways a corset could be incorporated into our outfits. From Dolce & Gabanna’s sexy mob wife to the more understated elegance at Schiaparelli, one thing is for certain: it’s time to invest in a corset.
As well as the runway, celebrities have been stepping out in corsets for months – both on and off the red carpet. So, if you too are looking for inspiration for corset outfits, look no further. Here are nine ways to style a corset in 2025…
With Jeans

Jeans and a nice top are practically a night-out uniform at this point and for good reason. You simply cannot go wrong with a corset top and jeans whether it’s for drinks with the girls or a special date night. Schiaparelli, a brand known for its impeccably structured and cinched silhouettes, showed the perfect look for this as part of its spring/summer 2025 ready-to-wear collection.
With a Midi skirt
A corset and midi skirt combo is timeless. Opt for a structured corset in a neutral colour – black, white, or beige – with a printed midi for contrast. Complete the look with delicate heels and a micro bag for an effortlessly chic outfit.
Maximalist Mob Wife

Maximalism (or loud luxury) is set to be a huge trend in 2025. With the increasing popularity of the mob wife aesthetic during the cooler months, combining the two trends is a great way to incorporate a corset into your wardrobe. Just look to the Dolce & Gabbana collection for SS25 if you need inspiration.

Over A Blazer

There’s something so powerful in combining a corset, an item historically used to restrict women, and a blazer, a garment that was once exclusively for males. Layering the two creates a compelling juxtaposition that offers an edge to this trend and a killer outfit.
Over A Dress
We can always count on Bella Hadid, and her stylist Molly Dickson, to provide the street-style inspiration. Last year, Bella stepped out in vintage Roberto Cavalli Spring 2003. A look consisting of a patterned dress layered underneath a corset. The look may be vintage, but it is still very much wearable today.
With low-rise trousers

Double denim
Talking of noughties influences, double denim is yet another 2000s trend resurfacing this year. So, why not kill two birds with one stone and wear two trends at once? If it’s good enough for Sydney Sweeney, it’s good enough for us.
With Shorts and a Kimono
This one is especially great if you are heading somewhere sunny this summer. High-waisted Bermuda or paper-bag shorts provide balance, making the look chic rather than overly revealing. While layering over a flowing kimono, not only adds a touch of bohemia to the look but acts as a perfect cover-up for a beach-side lunch.
With Ruffles

Not always an immediate choice when you think of corset outfits, but Jean Paul Gaultier’s latest couture collection, designed by Ludovic de Saint Sernin for SS25, proves it can be done. Offsetting the tightness of a corset with the bounciness of ruffles adds a romantic touch and makes for an interesting silhouette.
