For FW25 Roberto Cavalli continues to redefine opulence, with a collection titled ‘Pompeii Future.’ Here is everything to know about Fausto Puglisi latest collection for the Italian house…

The Inspiration

For Fall/Winter 2025, Roberto Cavalli creative director Fausto Puglisi takes us on a journey through time, merging the grandeur of the past with the modernity of today. Titled Pompeii Future, the collection draws from the rich history of the ancient city, where volcanic lava simultaneously preserved and transformed a civilization. Inspired by the frescoes, mosaics, and textures of Pompeii, Puglisi masterfully intertwines the brand’s signature sensuality with historical opulence, creating a wardrobe that is both wearable and fantastical. The spirit of adventure, the echoes of childhood vacations, and the aesthetic grandeur of the past converge in a collection that pays homage to both nostalgia and forward-thinking creativity.

The Collection

This season, textures and prints tell the story of Pompeii’s enduring beauty. Devoré velvet dresses mimic the corroding yet preserving power of lava, while oversized denim pants and a trench coat with faux fur leopard trim channel the raw elements of nature. Lava stones become intricate buttons, adding a sculptural edge to outerwear and structured jackets.

Puglisi also nods to the effortless glamour of 1940s Hollywood, drawing inspiration from a vintage image of Celia Cruz found in Miami’s Little Havana. The result? A reinterpretation of classic Adrian-style silhouettes—sharp shoulders paired with soft draping. Pompeii’s frescoes, reimagined in delicate, painterly prints, adorn power suits that exude relaxed confidence with fluid shirts and pants. Meanwhile, the Pompeii Garden print injects a burst of optimism, transforming breezy kaftans and shirt dresses into wearable works of art.

For evening-wear, mosaic-inspired patterns meet python prints in striking black-and-white combinations. A standout chiffon mini bustier dress pays homage to Southern Italy’s jewellery craftsmanship.

The new Serpentine bags and sneakers celebrate the timeless allure of the snake, an iconic Cavalli symbol of sensuality and transformation.

The Best Looks

Among the standout pieces of Roberto Cavalli FW25 are a velvet devoré gown that mirrors the hypnotic movement of molten lava and a sophisticated yet edgy trench coat lined with faux fur in Cavalli’s signature leopard print.
