Given the recent obsession with Western fashion and the rise in popularity of other animal prints, it’s hardly surprising that the next natural trend progression would lead us to cow print. It’s a trend that has literally been everywhere of late. From social media to street style, and of course, the runway you can hardly moooove (sorry) for seeing the print.
The good news is that it’s a slightly more demure alternative to leopard print. The mostly black-and-white nature of this print makes it a lot easier to style and it’s pretty much good to go from spring right through to winter – making it a worthwhile investment.
So if you’re thinking of dipping your toes into one of the biggest trends of 2025, here is a little guidance on how to style and the key pieces you should definitely be shopping…
On the runway
Aside from Prada’s iconic spring/summer 1991 collection, where cow print was first introduced as an alternative to leopard, we first started seeing this trend in the AW24 shows. Bottega Venetta, Talia Byre, Gestuz, and COS all showed this print in their collections. As did Dior for Cruise 2024.

Yet, it seems that off the runway has actually had a bigger influence in spearheading this trend. The street style of Copenhagen Fashion Week in particular saw an abundance of the print – all expertly styled of course.
How to style cow print
As with most prints, it’s often best to choose just one item in the print as the statement piece of your outfit. Then keep the rest of the outfits simple. For instance, if you’ve opted for a cow print coat, style it over a basic black tee and trousers. The last thing you want to do is overdo it and end up looking like a cowgirl!
For anyone who is intimidated by prints, a good place to start is always with accessories. There are plenty of cow print handbags to choose from that allow you to embrace the trend in a more manageable way.
