dior fw25

Dior’s Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection is a masterful blend of heritage and modernity, where Maria Grazia Chiuri reimagines the past through a contemporary lens. This season, Chiuri challenges conventions, exploring the fluidity of identity and the transformative power of fashion. Here is everything to know about the Dior FW25 collection…

The Inspiration

For the Dior FW25 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri delves into the house’s rich heritage, intertwining historical and contemporary references. This season, she explores fashion as a language that communicates cultural, aesthetic, and social narratives, reinterpreting past elements while addressing modern desires. A key inspiration emerges from Gianfranco Ferré’s architectural approach to design, influencing the collection’s silhouettes and structure. Additionally, Virginia Woolf’s literary classic Orlando informs the collection’s play on gender fluidity.

The Collection

The white shirt, a signature piece that defies gender conventions, serves as a foundation for many looks, connecting the past with the present. One of the standout elements of the collection is the detachable frilled collar, a nod to the Elizabethan ruff and Woolf’s Orlando, symbolizing identity’s ever-shifting nature.

The contrast of light and dark plays throughout the collection, with structured coats juxtaposed against sheer, diaphanous shirts. Masculine tailoring merges seamlessly with delicate femininity—tailcoats return to the runway, lace collars add a vintage flourish, while masculine jackets are combined with bustiers.

The collection’s colour palette shifts like a theatrical production—dark hues transition into soft neutrals, mirroring the changes in movement and mood throughout the show.

The Best Looks

In a revival of Dior’s Y2K era, the J’adore Dior t-shirt, made famous by John Galliano, makes a reappearance, connecting past and present through its bold statement.
