After the announcement of Sabato De Sarno’s exit from the house, the Gucci design team came through with the latest collection. Here is everything to know about the Gucci FW25 collection presented during Milan Fashion Week…

The Location

For the runway, models walk along the entwined green Interlocking G – standing for the founder Guccio Gucci. An emblem that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. As for music, a beautiful live orchestra provided the soundtrack to the show. Composed by Justin Hurwitz, winner of two Academy Awards, that only added to the grand cinematic atmosphere.

The Collection

For the Gucci FW25 collection there was a focus on pencil skirts – in neutral tones perfect for the office and patterned, embellished variations. The style was typically paired with a lace bodysuit or matching tailored jacket.

Speaking of tailoring, despite the show being co-ed there was a strong attention given to men’s tailoring. Featuring structured double-breasted jackets, turtlenecks, and monochromatic suits all in reference to the 1970s.

After several seasons of Gucci Ancora, the brand appears to be focusing on a new signature colour; forest green. Not only was the show space adorned with it, but several items in the collection were too. Particularly on bags, jackets, and trousers, as well as a stunning sequinned gown.

The silhouettes span various era’s, from the dawn of Gucci in the 1960s right through the decades to the minimalism of the mid-1990s. The collection was truly a love letter to the house. Gucci motifs were seen throughout – on everything from jumpsuits to tights. While possibly the most recognizable Gucci motif – the Horsebit – tied the collection together. It can be glimpsed as a chain at the waist on a dress with a deep neckline, on slippers, and of course on leather goods.

The Best Looks

Some of the best looks include a satin slip dress that pays homage to 90s minimalism, contrasted with an oversized fur coat that is largely reminiscent of today’s maximalism trend.
