4 Ways to Experience Fashion Week Without a Show Invite

fashion week without an invite

No invite? No problem. While attending a fashion show is often an exclusive event, reserved for editors, buyers and press, you’ll be pleased to know there are still plenty of ways to soak up the atmosphere of fashion week without ever setting foot inside a runway venue.

No, I am not talking about sneaking in (please don’t do this), but across the major fashion capitals, there are plenty of activations and events open to everyone. From pop-ups and exhibitions to fashion show watch parties, there’s more to the event than the runway. Here’s how to attend fashion week without an invite.

Fashion Show Watch Party

When influencer and fashion commentator Lyas didn’t receive an invite to the Dior men’s show in June, he took matters into his own hands. By holding a public viewing of the show’s livestream and projecting it onto a screen in a Parisian bar, he inadvertently started the next fashion phenomenon: the fashion show watch party. It was an idea so genius, yet so simple, it’s hard to believe it hasn’t been done before. It’s the fashion crowd’s version of gathering in a pub to watch a football match, and a great way to experience fashion week without having a seat at the show.

Given the success of the first event in June, during the spring/summer 2026 season, Lyas hosted La Watchparty in London, Milan, and Paris. With thousands of guests queuing for free entry, free drinks, and a chance to network and socialise with like-minded people, whether you’re attending with a group or on your own.

Volunteer At Fashion Week

Another great way to attend fashion week without an invite is to volunteer for brands during their shows. This often involves working front of house, greeting guests or helping backstage. You may or may not get the chance to see the actual show, but as someone who has volunteered in both positions, I can say that experiencing fashion week this way is often even more exciting.

Working backstage especially gives you the chance to see clothes up close, interact with models, and collaborate with stylists and creatives. Many people in the fashion industry can say they have attended a show, but not everyone has experienced the excitement of backstage!

Exhibitions

La Galerie Dior

Away from the buzz of an actual show, visiting a fashion exhibition is a great way to show love for the industry and feel inspired. A lot of fashion exhibitions happen year-round (a personal favourite is La Galerie Dior, which is a must-visit if you’re in Paris), but many coincide with fashion week and offer a chance to see past collections.

Pop Ups

During fashion week, many brands hold pop-ups in the big fashion capitals (New York, London, Milan, and Paris), offering a chance for anyone to get involved in the excitement. The nature of the pop-up will vary brand to brand, but can consist of sneak peeks at new collections, limited-edition drops, immersive installations, and yes, sometimes freebies.
