Dressing for winter is perhaps the trickiest season to navigate. You want to find the balance between practical pieces that will actually keep you warm, while still looking stylish and put together. With the help of good old Instagram, I have compiled a list of eight winter outfits you should absolutely recreate this season if you want to look and feel your best. Outerwear is typically the focal point to any winter outfit, so there is lots of inspo there – from oversized maxis to plush faux furs. As well as trend-led pieces set to ensure you’ll be on everyone’s winter fashion moodboard.

Winter outfits don’t have to be boring; in fact, they should be quite the opposite. It’s the time of year when layering in key, so why not go bold with your outerwear and opt for an animal print coat? It’s one of the biggest winter coat trends for this season, so you already know you’ll be right on style.

We’ve all been there. Two weeks of wearing pyjamas and sweatpants over the festive period, and suddenly we have to face reality again and actually leave our house. Sound like you? Then, casual winter outfits are the way to go. Think hoodies, joggers, Ugg boots and oversized maxi coats.

Brown continues to dominate as one of this season’s must-wear colours, seen on everything from coats and jumpers to bags and boots. A cute and casual winter outfit idea is to embrace the monochromatic look and wear head-to-toe brown.

Amaka is proving just how chic layering can be! Embracing the cold weather means piling on as many clothes as you can, but the key for a stylish look is to not hide each piece under oversized silhouettes. Wearing a knitted vest over a relaxed T-shirt allows for both to be on show, while the addition of an open-front maxi coat adds the essential warmth, whilst still showcasing the outfit underneath.

Fur coats will be your saviour this and every winter, so take this as your sign to invest in one if you haven’t already. Pairing said fur coat with a comfy pair of trousers and Ugg boots will give you that needed motivation boost to actually want to leave your house when the temperature drops.

Despite what people say, skirts absolutely belong in a winter wardrobe – just don’t forget the tights!

Winter capsule wardrobes are built around fur coats. An oversized fur jacket can be styled in numerous ways throughout the season, but pairs particularly well with a cosy knit jumper and jeans.

Funnel necks remain as one of the biggest fashion trends as we start 2026. They’ll be everywhere again by the spring and summer months, but buying now will get extra wear out of the style over the rest of winter. Adding a fashion-forward edge to an otherwise simple all-black look, they are a worthwhile investment.
